About Us:
Verulam Telephone is a very small hobby business that specializes in the obsolete, the unobtainable and the ridiculous. Our workshop is co-located with Mrs. Clifford's Computer Repair, who does much the same thing, only with laptops, desktops and other more leading-edge digital devices. Please note: we do not service cellular telephones. But we will recycle them, with dignity.
Our name harks back to the glorious Ontario township that was unfairly obliterated by amalgamation, and we honour our heritage by keeping that name alive. Like ancient townships, telephone equipment was at one time made to last down through the ages. In fact, millions of years from now, archeologists will excavate sites and discover still-working Nortel equipment that might only need to be powered up so that they can listen in awe and wonder at the technological advancements that the 20th century made to improve the lot of humankind.
We love a challenge. Is your wiring closet a veritable museum or a esoteric wall-hanging scrapyard? Do your desk-sets date back to before Tamagotchi was a thing? We can sort out the spaghetti, uncover the layers of technology, find those weird parts, program bizarre operating systems and keep your comfortable and familiar telephone system in working order. And when you become tired of it all or decide to surrender to the vagaries of VoIP or Cellular service, we can pull it all down, clear up the wall space for something useful and responsibly recycle it for you.
